According to the new pattern, consistency based questions will be asked. Its aim is to make students logical. Children’s analysis, higher order skills, turning to concept clear with critical thinking. CBSE has issued a letter on Thursday asking all schools to prepare students according to the new pattern.
Questions of ninth and tenth will be asked on this pattern
Competency-based (merit-based) questions will be asked at least 30 percent in the annual and tenth board exams of class IX (session 2021-22). These can be multiple choice, case based, source based integrated queries or any other type. Apart from this, 20 percent of the questions will be objective in nature and the remaining 50 percent of the questions will be asked as short answers and long answers as before.
This will be the pattern of 11th and 12th
Competitiveness based questions will be 20 percent in class 11th and 12th board exams (session 2021-22). These can also be multiple choice, case based and source based integrated question or any other form like ninth and tenth. Here, 20 percent of the questions will be objective, while the remaining 60 percent of the questions will be short and long answers as before.
Children will think beyond syllabus
CBSE has stated that its objective is not just to prepare children according to the syllabus, but to make them efficient. Think for yourself how to develop knowledge. Autonomy of studies. Going beyond syllabus, children should think and understand. How they will do something, they should be able to decide for themselves. Children’s creativity, aptitude, higher order skills should be such that the changes are seen.
Now this is the pattern
Currently, objective type questions in class IX and X are 20 percent inclusive of multiple choice. Similarly, case based and source based questions are 20 questions. While the remaining 60 questions are short and long answer questions. At the same time, in class 11th and 12th, 20 percent including objective multiple choice, 10 percent on case and source basis and remaining 70 percent are short and long answer.
