CBSE New Order: CBSE has warned the students of class 12th and has strictly instructed them not to take admission in any dummy school or else they will not be allowed to sit in the board exam.

CBSE New Order: This is very important news for the students of class 12th. CBSE i.e. Central Board of Education has clearly given the message that now those students who take admission in dummy schools should be careful because if it is found in the investigation that they have taken admission in dummy schools, then they will not be given a chance to sit in the board exam.

Students and parents will be responsible for this

An official of CBSE board said that the students and parents themselves will be responsible for the ill-effects of admission in ‘dummy schools’. CBSE is considering changing the rules of the exam as part of the ongoing action against ‘dummy schools’, so that such students can be prevented from appearing in the board exams.

Students were warned

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has warned students who have taken admission in ‘dummy schools’ that those who do not attend regular classes will not be allowed to appear in the 12th board examination. A board official said that the students and parents themselves will be responsible for the ill-effects of admission in ‘dummy schools’. They will have to appear for the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) examination instead of the CBSE board exam.

Will not be allowed to appear in board examination

A senior board official said, “If any candidate is found missing from the school or is absent during a surprise inspection conducted by the board, such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the board examination. The concerned student and his/her parents will be responsible for the consequences of not attending classes regularly.”

Implemented from this session

The official said that action will be taken against schools promoting ‘dummy’ culture or promoting absent students as per the board’s affiliation and exam rules. The issue was also raised in the board’s recent governing board meeting, where it was recommended that the decision be implemented from the academic session 2025-2026.

Attendance should be this much

The official said, “The matter was discussed in detail in the examination committee and it was concluded that as per the board’s rules, a minimum of 75 per cent attendance of students is mandatory to appear in board examinations.” He said that if the expected attendance is not met, then only enrolling in a non-attendance school cannot entitle such students to appear in CBSE exams.

Such students will be able to give this exam

The official said, “If any student is not given permission by CBSE, then he can go to NIOS to appear in the exam. It was further said that the board gives 25 percent relaxation only in cases like medical emergency condition, participation in national or international sports events and other serious reasons.”

According to the official, the board is considering that the students who do not have 75 percent attendance, the board will not consider their candidature and disciplinary action can also be taken against the school registering such students for the exam.
