Students appearing in CBSE 10th and 12th board exams who fail in practical exams will not have to appear for theory exams from this year. By the way, students will give only practical exams.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given a big relief to the students who have failed in the practical examination by amending the rules. According to the notification issued by the board, now the students who fail in the practical exam will not have to appear for theory paper along with practical.

It has been said in the notification that the students appearing in the 10th and 12th board examinations this year, if they fail in the practical examination due to any reason, then they will not have to appear for the theory exam from this year. By the way, students will give only practical exams.

The examination will be conducted at the school level and the new score will be sent to the board. The new result will be published after adding it with the marks obtained in theory earlier. Earlier, according to the old rule, the students who passed the practical examination had to appear for the theory examination in the compartmental examination.

Theory marks will be carried forward Principal of Firayalal Public School cum Sahodaya Group Secretary Neeraj Kumar Sinha said that this is good news for the students appearing for 10th and 12th exams. Students who fail in practical will have to pass the practical examination at the school level itself. The theory marks will be carried forward. He said that students preparing for competitive exams will get a lot of benefit from this rule. There are many students who stay away from practical classes in order to prepare for competitive exams and fail later.

There is also a change by the board regarding the examination.

Another amendment was made by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the previous day. From this year, compartmental and improvement exams will not be conducted for the students. In its place, supplementary examination will be organized by the board. It has been told by the board that the name of compartmental and improvement exam has been changed to supplementary exam. There has been no change in the qualification and criteria.

This initiative of the board is commendable. The aim is to help children move forward. Children’s year will not be wasted through this rule. Especially those children will be benefited, who become successful in any competitive examination, but cannot move forward due to failure in practicals. – Neeraj Kumar Sinha, Principal, Firayalal Public School
