Follow procedure in disciplinary cases against employees

According to the order, it has been observed that the Disciplinary Authority (DA), while dealing with disciplinary cases under the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, sometimes inadvertently failed to comply with important procedural requirements and timelines. remain unsuccessful. These procedural requirements need to be compulsorily followed to ensure justice and bring the cases to their logical conclusion.


Procedural lapses noticed in various cases

The order said that the necessary procedure as per the established rules is not followed by the courts to interfere with the disciplinary action on the ground of depriving the accused officers of a reasonable opportunity. Along with this, it has been said in the order that such procedural lapses have also been noticed in various cases sent to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) for opinion.

In an order issued on Monday to the secretaries of various ministries and departments of the central government, it has been felt that this step will help the administrative ministries and departments to deal effectively with disciplinary matters.
