Proud for the city: a grading issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development
The performance grading index for the finest academic system of government schools in Chandigarh has been given the top ranking in the entire country. The Performance Grading Index (PGI) has been released for the year 2018-2019 on Friday by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development. In the 2017-2018 report of this index, where 846 points were awarded to Chandigarh, for the year 2018-2019, Chandigarh has got a total of 896 points out of 1000 points and Chandigarh is placed in Grade-1 Plus. Administrator VP Singh Badnore also congratulated the officers of the Education Department about this. UT Chandigarh is followed by four more Achievers in Top Five. Chandigarh is followed by Gujarat, Kerala, Delhi and Maharashtra.

Based on the four parameters,
these rankings, issued by the ranking ministry , are based on four different parameters. Substandard was set before these four parameters, in which points are given to each state or UT based on the working, infrastructure, student teachers ratio, facilities provided to children and performance of digitization. By adding these points, points of four parameters have been found.
