The Maha Kumbh will run in Prayagraj till February 26. Amid concerns over the increase in air fares to Prayagraj, officials of aviation regulator DGCA held a meeting with airline representatives last week. During this, they were urged to increase flights and rationalize ticket prices.

At present, 132 flights are flying from different Indian cities to Prayagraj with about 80,000 monthly seats. The ministry said in a statement that 26 cities including Srinagar and Visakhapatnam are connected to Prayagraj through direct and stopover flights. According to the statement, Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu has asked the airline companies to ensure that the air fares are kept under control.
