To check the status of your passport application online:
1. Passport Seva Website:
- Go to https://www.passportindia.gov.in/.
- Click on “Track Application Status”.
- Enter your 15 digit file number and date of birth.
- Click on “Track Status”.
- Your application status will appear on the screen.
2. Passport Seva Mobile App:
- Download Passport Seva App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Login to the App.
- Click on “Application Status”.
- Enter your file number and date of birth.
- Click on “Track Status”.
- Your application status will appear on the screen.
3. SMS:
Type 15 digit file number and send SMS to 51969 from your registered mobile number.
You will receive SMS of application status.
4. IVRS:
- Call 1800-258-1800 (Toll Free) or +91-11-24300666 (Landline).
- Follow IVRS instructions.
- Enter your file number and date of birth.
- Your application status will be informed to you.
5. PSK:
You can also check the application status by visiting your nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK).

To make a passport:
- Go to https://www.passportindia.gov.in/.
- Click on “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport”.
- Fill the online form and upload the required documents.
- Schedule Appointment and Pay Fees.
- Go to PSK on Appointment Date and get Biometrics Captured.
