The videos have left viewers both terrified and mesmerized. While some expressed awe at the immense power of nature, others were mesmerized by its stunning beauty.
Instructions to keep school-colleges closed
The Tamil Nadu government has directed closure of schools and colleges in the state’s Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts on Tuesday, October 15, in view of the forecast of heavy rains.
State Chief Minister MK Stalin also asked information technology (IT) companies to allow employees in these districts to work from home till October 18.
Heavy rain alert for next three days
District Collectors (DMs) of all the four districts said they were fully prepared to deal with the situation arising due to the floods. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rains across Tamil Nadu over the next three days.
