Chequebooks of two banks will be invalid from October 1, know how it will be updated

Customers of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI) will have to issue new Chequebooks. Due to the merger with Punjab National Bank, the old Cheque book will no longer be valid. It has to be changed from PNB’s Cheque book.





New Delhi . After the merger of many banks, many rules related to them have changed. Be it the case of Cheque book or IFSC code. Similar is the case with Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI). Both these banks have merged with Punjab National Bank (PNB).

Mainly the customers of these two banks will have to issue a new Cheque book as the old one will no longer be valid. Customers will not be able to use old Chequebooks after October 1. It has to be changed from PNB’s Cheque book.

PNB has given information
PNB has tweeted, ‘The recognition of OBC and UBI Chequebooks will end from 1 October. Please replace the same with PNB’s Cheque book through new IFSC and MICR. The bank has also informed about this change by sending several SMS to the customers.





What will be the process
Customer can apply for a new Cheque book through ATM, Internet Banking and PNB Call Center. Customers can apply for the Chequebook from the nearest branch or through the PNB ONE app. The bank has said that by calling PNB’s toll-free number 1800-180-2222, redressal of any kind of problems related to the new Cheque book can be found.

SBI has issued an important notice The
country’s largest state-run bank State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an important notice to the customers to link their PAN card with Aadhaar before 30 September 2021. If SBI customers do not do this within the stipulated time frame, then they will find it difficult to get banking services.

Let us tell you that the government has made it mandatory to link PAN card with Aadhaar. Currently, the deadline for linking PAN-Aadhaar is 30 September. In such a situation, SBI has appealed to its customers to link PAN with Aadhaar as soon as possible.


Know how to link PAN with Aadhaar
>> First of all, with the help of Income Tax website, find out whether your PAN is linked with Aadhaar or not.
>> For this, first go to the Income Tax website.
>> Enter Name, PAN Number and Aadhaar Number as entered on Aadhar Card.
>> Tick square only if year of birth is mentioned in Aadhar card. Then enter the captcha code.
>> After this click on Link Aadhaar. Your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.
