CNG variant of Maruti Suzuki’s mini SUV launched, will give 31.2 km / kg mileage

New Delhi, Auto Desk. Maruti Suzuki offers the most range of CNG car portfolios in India and the new car joining this growing line-up is Maruti’s mini SUV S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG variants have been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 4.84 lakhs, which goes up to top model VXI (O) Rs 5.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG has been introduced in four variants – LXi, (LXi (O), VXi and VXi (O) which come with manual and AGS (automatic) variants.

S-Presso is built by Maruti on the Heartect platform of the same company. It has the same 1.0 liter petrol engine derived from the Alto K10 and this engine generates 67 bhp power at 5,500 rpm and 90 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm. The BS6 standard engine with CNG version gives a much better 31.2 km / kg mileage and its trunk capacity is 55 liters.



Talking about the interior of the car, it gets the same features that are found in the regular petrol S-Presso. Its central console is inspired by a Sport Watch and has a 7.0 inch SmartPlay 2.0 infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been one of the company’s best-selling models in the Indian market and last year the vehicle has sold an average of around 10,000 units every month. In the fiscal year 2019-20, Maruti Suzuki also has the highest sales of cars running on CNG. In such a situation, if we look at the sales of CNG cars of the last five years, then it has seen an annual growth (CAGR) of 15.5 percent.
