A report in Filmfare quoted the source as saying that the film was to be released digitally earlier, but the makers would now wait for theaters to open. The source said, ‘The idea is to start the New Year with laughter. Selter is taken from Varun Dhawan’s film Mr. Lele. Lele New Year was scheduled to be released in the evening, but now this slot has been taken by Coolie No. 1. However, this is for now. The rest depends on the ground timing.

It is worth noting that recently the release date of the film 83 based on Rohit Shetty’s cop film Suryavanshi and Kabir Khan’s World Cup winning team has been extended. The release date of Suryavanshi has been extended till Diwali and the release date of 83 till December. However, according to the reports, everything is temporary now. If the situation does not improve, the film’s release date can be extended. 



At the same time, big films like these others have decided to release digitally. It starts with Gulabo-Sitabo. After this the films Gujun Saxena, Yaara, Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride of India, Akshay Kumar starrer Lakshmi Bomb and Alia Bhatt starrer Sadar 2 are set to be released digitally. In such a situation, the audience will not have to wait for theaters for entertainment.
