Corona virus: all normal train services closed till August 12, only special trains will run

It has been told by Indian Railways that special Rajdhani / Mail / Express trains which were running between May 12 and June 1 will continue to run.

new Delhi.Ā Due to the cases of Coronavirus growing continuously in the country, all general train services have been closed till 12 August.Ā On Thursday, an order was given by the Indian Railways.Ā The order said that all general passenger service trains, including mail and express trains, are being closed till August 12.Ā According to the ticket cancellation orders issued earlier, all tickets booked by June 30, 2020 will be refunded according to the normal time schedule.Ā At the same time, all tickets from 01-07-2020 to 12-08-2020 will be canceled and all of them will be fully refunded as per the order. The special Rajdhani / Special Rajdhani / Mail trains have been told by the Railways. Mail / Express Trains which were running between 12 May to 1 June will continue to run.



Let us tell you that due to the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19, 15 pairs of Rajdhani trains were started from May 12 to facilitate people trapped in different parts of the country to reach home.Ā These trains were run for state capitals or larger stations.Ā Before the introduction of trains, the SOP was issued by the Railways, according to which only the passengers without symptoms were being allowed to travel.Ā After this, the railways started running 100 pairs of non-AC trains from June 1 to facilitate other passengers.Ā Which the railways has decided to stop by 12 August.

Let me tell you that Indian Railways started special labor trains for stranded migrant laborers (Migrant Labourers) in different parts of the country.Ā The railway has run 4,436 laborers special trains since May 1 till the last update and has transported over 62 lakh migrant laborers to their homes.

Railways had informed about this that the average amount of fare for people traveling in Shramik Special trains is Rs 600 per person and indicated that the Railways has earned revenue of around Rs 360 crore by bringing 60 lakh migrant laborers home from May 1. .Ā It also said that the Railways spent Rs 3,400 per passenger on Shramik Special trains and there was a loss of about Rs 2,040 crore in running these trains.Ā The cost of running these trains is being borne by the Center and States on the basis of 85-15 percent formula respectively.
