COVID special train being used for smuggling, this big disclosure at old Delhi railway station

Delhi Custom’s Preventive Team has made a big disclosure of smuggling through Varanasi to Delhi via Kovid Special Train (COVID Special Train).

new Delhi. COVID-19 special trains are now being used for smuggling as well. After raiding Old Delhi Railway Station, the Preventive Team of Delhi Custom has made this big disclosure. The custom team has also seized lakhs of rupees of foreign cigarettes (Foreign Cigarettes) from the Old Delhi Railway Station. Now an effort is being made to find out to whom this foreign cigarette worth millions of rupees was to be delivered in Delhi. Also, which people are involved in this smuggling racket.



According to the senior officer of the custom, the preventive team received intelligence input that there are continuous attempts to smuggle through the Kovid special train. Intelligence input was also informed that a large consignment of smuggling is going to reach the Old Delhi Railway Station through the Kovid special train coming from Varanasi. Based on the information, the Preventive Team of Delhi Customs laid their net at the Old Delhi Railway Station. As soon as the station of Kovid special train coming from Varanasi reached the station, the custom team started its action. Every baggage and parcel reached Delhi by this train was searched by the custom team.

senior official of the recovered Rs 40 lakh foreign cigarette custom said that during the search, the team of the custom identified 15 motions. Foreign cigarettes were recovered from within. All these cigarettes belong to the RARIS brand. According to the custom, the price of 4.5 lakh foreign cigarettes recovered from the railway station has been estimated at around Rs 40 lakh. Customs seized all cigarettes and registered a case under COTPA ACT 2003 and Legal Metrology Act 2009. The custom team is also trying to find out how these foreign cigarettes reached Varanasi and whom they were being sent to Delhi.
