Cyclone Asani Updates: Cyclone ‘Asani’, which rose from the southeast Bay of Bengal, can reach Odisha by 9th May i.e. on Monday evening. Asani is expected to intensify into a severe cyclone in the next 24 hours. During this, the wind will blow at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. In the next 6 to 7 hours, this storm will start showing its severe effect.
New Delhi: Meteorologists have claimed that the ‘Asani’ cyclone, which rose from the southeast Bay of Bengal, may reach Odisha by the evening of 9 May i.e. Monday. Asani is expected to intensify into a severe cyclone in the next 24 hours. Due to this there is a possibility of heavy rains in many states including Odisha.
All the ports of Odisha have been alerted. During this, the wind will blow at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. In the next 6 to 7 hours, this storm will start showing its severe effect.
These states will have an effect
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of the cyclone will remain in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh along with Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Chhattisgarh and other states. Although experts believe that this cyclone will not hit the land in Odisha. However, in view of the apprehension of the impact of the cyclone, a warning of heavy rain has been issued.
Heavy rain for three days
On May 10, May 11 and May 12, there may be heavy rain with strong wind in the coastal Odisha area. Along with this, fishermen have been advised not to go towards the sea from May 9 to 11.
The ocean will be turbulent
Due to the effect of cyclone, the sea will remain disturbed in the coastal region of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh from May 9. There will be light rain on May 10 evening. Heavy rain is possible in some areas like Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri districts of Odisha. Then on May 11, there will be heavy rain in Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts.
