Employes DA Arrears Calculation: Central employees will get arrears of Rs 30864, know the complete calculation

DA Arrears: If you are an employee then this news is for you. Actually, recently a big update has come on the increase in 18 months arrears and dearness allowance of the employees. Let us tell you that at present 42 percent dearness allowance is being given to central government employees and pensioners…

Good news for more than one crore central government employees and pensioners. The government may soon increase their Dearness Allowance (DA). This time it can be increased by three percent. At present, 42 percent dearness allowance is being given to central government employees and pensioners. If it is increased by three percent then it will reach 45 percent. The Central Government from time to time increases the Dearness Allowance (DR) of its employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners. It is revised twice a year i.e. in January and July according to inflation. Earlier in January, DA was increased by four percent.

DA for central government employees is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW). There is a fixed formula for this. The average CPI-IW for the last 12 months is 382.32. According to this formula DA will be 46.24 percent. Last time it was 42.37 percent. According to this, there will be an increase of 3.87 percent in DA on July 1, 2023. The government does not consider increasing DA by more than a decimal point. Thus, DA is likely to increase by three percentage points to 45 percent. The DA increase was announced on September 28 last year.

How much will the salary increase?

Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation, said that there may be a three percent increase in dearness allowance. He said that we are demanding four percent increase in DA. If the government accepts this, then the DA of central employees will increase to 46 percent. If an employee gets a basic pay of Rs 36,500 every month, then currently his DA is Rs 15,330. If DA is increased by three percent from July 2023, then their DA will increase by Rs 1,095 to Rs 16,425. Along with this, arrears will also be received from July.

18 months arrears-

The central government did not pay DA to its employees during the Corona period for 18 months i.e. between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021. Similarly, dearness relief i.e. DR was not paid to pensioners during this period. Its objective was to reduce the financial burden on the government. Due to this decision, the government had saved Rs 34,402.32 crore. The employees were demanding its payment for a long time. But today the government made it clear that it will not be paid. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had given this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
