DA Hike : As we know, DA is increased twice a year by the government, under which the first DA is increased in the month of January and its duration is from January to June, while the second DA is increased in the month of July.

At present, all central employees are getting the benefit of Dearness Allowance (DA) at the rate of 34%, which may increase to 39% in the month of July. With the increase in DA, the salary of central employees is going to increase a lot. If the salary of an employee is around Rs 10,800, then due to increase in dearness allowance, his salary can increase by about Rs 34,140. However, till now no official notice has been issued by the Central Government in this regard. This estimate regarding DA has been made keeping in mind the AICPI Index 2022.
How much can DA Hike be ?
This time Central Govt. The dearness allowance of Employees and Pensioners is expected to increase directly by 5%. This will increase the dearness allowance from 34% to 39%. The central government decides how much percentage increase in dearness allowance is to be made on the basis of AICPI Index. Under this index, there was an increase of 1 point in the figures of March 2022 and it had reached 126 points. Since then the employees are hopeful that the government may soon increase the DA for the July-December period.
Although the AICPI index numbers for April, May, June 2022 have not come yet and if this number remains above the level of March, then the central government is set to increase the dearness allowance. Inflation is increasing day by day in the country and the retail inflation rate has reached a record high of 7.79% in the month of April. Whereas the rate of food inflation is 8.38% and at present these inflation rates are at the high level of last 8 years.
If DA is increased to 39%, then the salary of central employees will also increase significantly. If at present the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000, then his dearness allowance will be Rs 6,120 at the rate of 34%, but if the DA increases to 39%, the employees will get the benefit of dearness allowance up to Rs 7,020. According to the 7th pay scale, the basic salary of central employees is at least Rs 18,000. This means that the increased dearness allowance (DA) will increase by Rs 900 every month. According to this, the employees whose basic salary is total Rs 18000, they will get the benefit of dearness allowance of about Rs 84,240 annually.
