AICPI index jumped
It is being told in the media reports that there will be a 3 percent increase in the DA of the employees. Actually, after two months of decline, there has been a jump in the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) of March.
DA may increase by 4 percent if it continues to bounce
Although the figures for April, May and June are yet to come, but if the jump continues, media reports are claiming that the DA of employees can increase by up to 4 percent.
Right now employees are getting 34 percent DA
Let us tell you that under the 7th Pay Commission, the dearness allowance of the employees is revised twice in a year. It is revised in January and July in view of inflation. Earlier, after the increase of 3 per cent in January 2022, the central employees are getting DA at the rate of 34 per cent.
Here are the figures of the AICPI index
According to media reports, the three-month AICPI index released by the Ministry of Labor is as follows. In January it was 125.1 points. In February it reached 125 points, but in March it reached 126 points. In December 2021, it was at 125.4 points.
Let us tell you that if there is an increase in dearness allowance again in July, then about 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners will get its direct benefit. While central employees get dearness allowance, pensioners get the benefit of dearness relief.

Remember that dearness allowance is given to improve the living conditions of government employees. It is given to government employees, public sector employees and pensioners. The reason for giving it is that the standard of living of the employees should be maintained even in the rising inflation.
