The Finance Ministry has issued a notification saying that the payment of increased DA-DR to central employees and pensioners will be started soon. Its amount will be added to their salary and pension every month, while the previous arrears will be paid in the form of arrears.
New Delhi. Another big update has come out regarding dearness allowance for government employees. The Finance Ministry said on Thursday that the increased Dearness Allowance (DA) to the employees will be implemented from January 2022.
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had last month decided to increase the DA by 3 percent. After this, dearness allowance of government employees was increased from 31 percent to 34 percent. It is calculated on the basic salary of the employee. To give relief to the employees from the increased rates of inflation, the government increases the allowance. Similarly, it also increases the DR to give pensioners a night out of inflation.
What did the Finance Ministry say
The Finance Ministry has issued a notification saying that the increased DA to give relief from inflation to about 47.68 lakh central employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners of the country will be calculated from January itself. Soon it will be paid in the amount received every month to the employees and pensioners, while the arrears of the previous months will be paid.
The ministry said that the decision to increase the DA has been taken in accordance with the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, which will be implemented in view of the prevailing inflation rate and the increased burden on the employees. The amount of 3 percent increased as DA will be added to the monthly salary of the employees, while this amount will be added to the pension received by the pensioners every month.
These pensioners will get the benefit of the decision
- Retired employees from central departments or companies will get increased pension in the form of DR.
- Retired employees will also get benefits from the service of the Armed Forces.
- All India Service pensioners will also participate in this.
- Railway pensioners and their families will get benefits.
- DA will also be given to pensioners receiving provisional pension.
- Government pensioners displaced from Burma (Myanmar) and Pakistan will also get increased DA.
