Railway Board Dearness Allowance Hike: On the occasion of Dussehra (Dussehra 2023) and Diwali (Diwali 2023), Railway Board has announced increase in dearness allowance while giving a gift to lakhs of its employees. After this it has increased from 42 percent to 46 percent. These rates have come into effect from July 1, 2023. According to the notification issued by the Railway Board on October 23, 2023, the General Managers and Chief Administrative Officers of All India Railways and Production Units have decided that now DA will be increased from 42 percent to 46 percent (Railway Board DA Hike) will be done.
When will you get increased salary?
Railway Board has also informed in its notification that the arrears from July 2023 till now will be given to the employees. This arrears will be credited along with the next month’s salary. Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation, said that DA Hike of the employees was pending since July 2023. In such a situation, it was the right of the employees to get this. Now the employees are getting their rights.
According to PTI news, after this decision of the Railway Board, the railway employee unions have welcomed this decision. M Raghavaiah, General Secretary of National Federation of Indian Railwaymen, has said after this decision that this decision is taken only on the basis of inflation rate. The objective behind this decision is that there should be no impact of inflation on the employees.
Diwali bonus also announced
Before the Railway Board’s decision to increase DA, the Central Government had given the gift of Diwali Bonus to the central employees. The central government had announced Diwali bonus for Group C and non-gadget Group B officers. The central government has fixed the maximum limit for this bonus at Rs 7,000. The cabinet has approved Rs 15,000 crore for this bonus.
