The Central Government has increased the dearness allowance of more than 47 lakh central employees working across the country including Delhi-NCR and dearness relief to pensioners by 3 percent. According to the information received, this increase is effective from July 1 this year. With this decision of the central government, thousands of central employees living in Delhi-NCR have also got the gift of Diwali. With this, more than 68 lakh pensioners across the country including Delhi-NCR will also benefit. His pension will also increase by 3 percent.
Dearness Allowance (DA) increased by 31 percent
After this announcement of the central government, dearness allowance to central employees has increased from 28 to 31 percent from July 1. Let us tell you that in July itself, the Narendra Modi government had increased the rate of dearness allowance of central employees from 17 percent to 28 percent. Now DA has increased to 31 percent with 3 percent increase.
According to an estimate, if the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 20,000 per month, then after a total DA increase of 31 percent, his salary will increase by Rs 6200. In this way, understand that in the month of July, dearness allowance was increased from 17 percent to 28 percent. In this way, dearness allowance of Rs 3400 is being given at the rate of 17 percent, which will be a benefit of Rs 2800 per month in dearness allowance as compared to July.
It is worth noting that apart from a large number of railways in Delhi-NCR, central employees of more than a dozen departments including CPWD, Prasar Bharati, Agriculture Department live and also provide services here. Diwali gift has already been announced for lakhs of railway employees
For the financial year 2020-21, the Railways has already announced a bonus equal to 78 days’ salary to non-gazetted employees. Accordingly, the maximum amount payable for each eligible railway employee for 78 days is Rs.17,951. Actually, the maximum amount of bonus will be a little less than Rs 18,000. It is estimated that 11.56 lakh non-gazetted railway employees will be covered under this. The financial burden of payment of 78 days bonus to the employees is estimated to be Rs 1984.73 crore.
