After this, the data of October, November and December will decide how much DA will increase in January 2024. However, for this we will have to wait for the December 2023 AICPI index numbers.

There will be a huge jump in dearness allowance

Under the 7th Pay Commission, the AICPI numbers from July to December 2023 will decide the dearness allowance for central employees. Dearness allowance has reached about 48 percent. Four months’ numbers are yet to come. Experts believe that there is a possibility of it increasing by 3 percent more. An increase of 5 percent in dearness allowance may be seen in January 2024.
