DA Hike: The Jharkhand Government on Tuesday increased the Dearness Allowance of its employees from the existing 50 per cent to 53 per cent of the basic salary. This increase will be effective from July 1 this year. The Dearness Relief (DR) given to pensioners has also been increased by three per cent to 53 per cent.
In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the proposal to increase the dearness allowance of state government employees and dearness relief to pensioners was approved. Officials said that this increase will benefit more than three lakh employees and pensioners of the state.
A total of 10 proposals were passed by the Cabinet, including administrative approval of Rs 99.56 crore for Multi-disciplinary Education and Research University (MERU) on the campus of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribagh under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA). Soren said, “We are ready to move forward with a visionary mindset for the betterment of Jharkhand.”
