Let us tell you that the dearness allowance of government employees is increased twice every year, the first of which is increased in January and the second in July. The dearness allowance of July has been extended to September 2022. Now the next i.e. January DA hike is expected to happen in March 2023. Although it will be implemented from January.

DR of pensioners will also increase along with DA.

This dearness allowance, which will be applicable from January 1, will be given to the employees with arrears in March. According to media reports, the government will also increase the DR of pensioners along with this. Apart from this, in some media reports, it is being said that DA arrears of 18 months will be received. But the government has categorically denied this.

DA is increased in January and July

Let us tell you that DA and DR are increased twice a year in January and July. Last time in September, 48 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners got its benefit. At present, the dearness allowance of central employees is 38 percent. Now it is expected to be 42 percent with an increase of 4 percent in January. In March last year, the government had increased DA by 3 percent.

The way for 4 percent DA hike is clear due to the continuous increase in Aicpi Index. In October 2022, it has increased to 132.5 percent. There will be an increase in DA in March on the basis of Aicpi Index figures of November and December.
