There is no data on Labor Bureau website

The data on the official website of Labor Bureau https://www.labourbureau.gov.in/allindiageneralindex-1 has not been updated after April 2023. Along with this, no notification regarding changes in the index has been issued. According to the latest data, the index is visible at only 134.2 in the month of April. Data for subsequent months is missing.

How much can dearness allowance increase?

There could be the biggest ever increase of 5 percent in dearness allowance. The DA score determined by AICPI Index is indicating something similar. According to the current trend, dearness allowance can reach 51 percent. If this happens, there will be a big jump of 5 percent. Dearness allowance is calculated from the AICPI index. Inflation data collected from different sectors in the index shows how much the employees’ allowance should increase in comparison to inflation.

DA increased by 3 percent in 4 months data

If we look at the current situation, the AICPI index numbers for July, August, September and October have been released. Currently the index is at 138.4 points, while the dearness allowance score has reached 49.08 percent. It is estimated that this figure will cross 50 percent in November. After this, in December too, it can be seen close to 51 percent with a jump of 0.54 points. Only after the December 2023 AICPI index numbers come, it will be final how much the total increase in dearness allowance will be.

There will be a huge jump in dearness allowance

Under the 7th Pay Commission, AICPI numbers from July to December 2023 will decide the dearness allowance for central employees. Dearness allowance has reached about 49.08 percent. The numbers for 2 months are yet to come. Experts believe that it has increased by 3 percent now. If we look at the trend, a rise of around 1.60 percent may still come. If this happens then dearness allowance can reach 50.60 percent. In such a situation, the figure above the decimal point will be considered as 51 percent.
