DA Hike calculation: Central employees are going to get good news soon. The government is going to give them a gift just before Dussehra. It is certain that dearness allowance will increase. The wait was a little long but now government employees, officers and pensioners are going to get good news. The Central Government can give them a big gift by approving the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA Hike). The increase in dearness allowance (DA hike) is certain to be 4 percent.

DA will increase by 4%

The Central Government revises Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief twice every year (1 January and 1 July). It is usually announced in the months of March and September. But, this time the wait was a little longer. However, this gift will be available just before the festivals in October. At present, central employees are getting 42 percent DA. From July 1, 2023, all central employees and pensioners are expected to get 4 percent additional DA. It is clear from the recent new inflation figures that DA will increase by 4%. It is clear from the AICPI index data that after the increase in dearness allowance, it will reach 46 percent.

DA will be available for three months in arrears from July 1

The central government will announce the increased DA in October itself. It will be implemented from July 1, 2023. This means that employees and pensioners will benefit from the arrears (DA Arrears) from July to October. About 48 lakh employees and officers will benefit from this decision of the government. At the same time, 69 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of Dearness Relief (DR).

Calculation on basic salary

According to experts, it is clear from the inflation index data that there will be an increase of 4 percent in DA. Meaning after increasing by 4 percent, DA will become 46%. DA is calculated on the basic salary on the basis of 7th Pay Commission. Suppose your minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000, then DA will increase by Rs 720.

By how much will DA increase on how much basic?

Those with basic salary of Rs 25,000 will get a benefit of Rs 1000 in DA every month. There will be an increase of Rs 2,000 in DA for those with basic salary of Rs 50,000. For those whose basic salary is Rs 1,00,000, after the 4 percent increase in dearness allowance, their total salary will increase by Rs 4,000. The basic salary at the level of Cabinet Secretary is Rs 2.5 lakh. In such a situation, there will be a total increase of Rs 10,000 in his DA.
