DA Hike, Pension Scheme: Big news has come on Dearness Allowance and Old Pension Scheme. Know what this is and what will be its effect.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced a 4 percent increase in Dearness Allowance for government employees. With this, DA has increased from 34 percent to 38 percent from December 1.
Mann said on social media platform We are going to give New Year gifts to the employees. There has been a 4 percent increase in DA (DA Hike) which will be considered effective from December 1, 2023. This will benefit 3.25 lakh employees and 3.50 lakh pensioners of the state.
After the meeting, PSMSU President Amrik Singh said that the Chief Minister announced to give 4 percent DA to the state government employees. He said that the Chief Minister has assured that the remaining 8 percent DA will also be given.
According to PTI report, on the issue of restoration of the old pension scheme, Mann said that the state government will take up this issue with the central government.
In a statement, Mann said that a meeting would be arranged with the Finance Secretary of the Government of India to take the matter forward. The employees were demanding implementation of the old pension scheme, release of pending 12 percent DA and regularization of contract employees.
