Central government employees news: The wait of central employees is over. The Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) to be implemented from July 2024 has been confirmed. The figures of AICPI index for June 2024 have been released. There has been a huge jump in it. Central employees and pensioners taking salary under 7th Pay Commission will get direct benefit of this. Dearness allowance is being given 50 percent since January 2024. But, it has not been made zero. Dearness allowance has been counted in the same way from July onwards. There has been a big jump of 1.5 points in the AICPI index. Due to this, there has been a jump in the score of dearness allowance as well.
7th Pay Commission: Dearness allowance will increase by 3%
The numbers of the AICPI-IW index between January and June 2024 have decided how much dearness allowance the employees will get from July 2024. The final numbers have been released. The June AICPI index has seen a jump of 1.5 points. In May, it was at 139.9 points, which has now increased to 141.4. However, the score of dearness allowance has gone up to 53.36. This means that this time the dearness allowance will increase by 3 percent. In January, the index number was at 138.9 points, due to which the dearness allowance increased to 50.84 percent.

There has been a decline in inflation on an annual basis in June 2024, the inflation rate in June 2024 was 3.67% as compared to 5.57% in June 2023.

The announcement will be made from July 1 till October
Dearness allowance for central employees is announced by September or October. But, it will be implemented only from July 2024. The payment for the intervening months will be made as arrears. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the AICPI numbers from January to June 2024 will decide the dearness allowance for central employees. Dearness allowance has reached 53.36 percent. The situation is clear, dearness allowance is going to be 53 percent.
Dearness allowance will not be zero
The dearness allowance of the employees will not be zero. The calculation of dearness allowance will continue. There is no fixed rule regarding this. Last time this was done when the base year was changed. Now there is no need to change the base year and there is no such recommendation either. Therefore, further calculation for central employees will be done beyond 50 percent.
