Dearness allowance Hike: There is good news for central government employees and pensioners. 3% increase in dearness allowance has been fixed. Now employees and pensioners will get Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) at the rate of 34%. According to the year 2001 on the basis of AICPI Index, the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, there has been a decrease of one point in the index for December 2021.
With this the index has gone up to 361 points. The 12-month index average for dearness allowance is 351.33. On this average index 34.04% Dearness allowance is made. But, dearness allowance is given in round figure only. In such a situation, a total of 34% dearness allowance is set to be received from January 2022.
Will be announced after March
At present, 31% dearness allowance is already being received. From January 2022, the benefit of 3% more dearness allowance will be available. Now the total dearness allowance has become 34%. According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary. It will be announced soon. It is expected that it will be announced after March. Because, due to the election code of conduct, the government will not announce it at the moment. This decision of the government will benefit more than 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners. Now the next dearness allowance will be calculated in July 2022.
AICPI-IW declined in December
The data of AICPI-IW (All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers) for December 2021 has been released. In December, it fell 0.3 points to 125.4 points. In November, this figure was at 125.7 points. It has decreased by 0.24%. But, this has not affected the increase in dearness allowance. After the figures of AICPI IW of the Labor Ministry, it is clear that this time the dearness allowance will increase by 3 percent.
Index up 0.8 percent in November
According to Labor Ministry data, the AICPI-IW index had gained 0.8% in November 2021 and reached 125.7. It was clear from this that there would be an increase of 3 percent in dearness allowance. Now even though there has been a slight decline in the figure of December 2021, but in January 2022, there will be an increase in DA at the rate of 3 per cent. The DA of government employees is currently 31 percent. Now after an increase of 3 per cent, it will reach 34 per cent.
