On behalf of the Center, banks have been asked to start calculating pension according to the increase in Dearness Relief Allowance of pensioners.
No need to wait for order
It has been said in the order of the Center that banks need not wait for the order of the concerned department. According to Satish Kumar Garg, Senior Accounts Officer of the Central Pension Accounting Office, banks have to release the amount to Central Civil Pensioners, Freedom Fighters (SSS Yojana), Supreme Court Judges, Members of Parliament and other pensioners at the earliest. This will include the increase that their departments have imposed. An order in this regard has already been issued by the department.
They will benefit
The government departments from which retirees will benefit from Dearness Relief Allowance include Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), Freedom Fighters and Rehabilitation (FFR) Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Justice, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Tourism and Department of Public Enterprises. Including retired employees.
How much pension will you get now?
- Ex-Andaman political prisoner/spouse pension increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 38,700.
- Freedom fighters who were imprisoned outside India will be given pension from Rs 28,000 to Rs 36,120 per month.
- Other freedom fighters including INA will get 33,540 months pension increased from 26,000.
- Dependent guardian / eligible daughter will get pension from 15 thousand to Rs 19,350 per month.
Let us tell you that the government has already increased the Dearness Relief (DR) of Freedom Fighters. Revised rates of dearness relief to freedom fighter pensioners have been implemented with effect from July 1, 2021. His pension has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 9000. The Ministry of Home Affairs had given instructions on 28 July 2021, which is related to giving 29% dearness relief to the freedom fighter from 1 July 2021.
