The last month of the year 2021 is going on. After a few days the new year i.e. 2022 will come. In this year i.e. 2021, people got to see many changes. In the coming new year also, many changes are going to happen, which will have a direct impact on our everyday life. With the beginning of the new year on January 1, 2022, there is going to be a big change in the payment rules through debit and credit cards.
A new rule of RBI is coming into force from January 1. Information related to this was given by Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das earlier this month. Under the new rule, you will now be able to make payments up to a maximum of Rs 5000 through contactless debit and credit cards without any PIN. Know in this report today what is the new rule, because if you are not aware of it, you may find it difficult.
You will be able to pay up to 5 thousand rupees without PIN
From January 1, 2021, with contactless debit and credit cards, you will be able to make payments up to a maximum of Rs 5000 without any PIN. Till now, contactless debit and credit cards could only pay a maximum of Rs 2,000 without a PIN. In fact, under the One Nation One Card scheme, the Indian company RuPay had issued contactless debit and credit cards. With the help of these cards, you can easily make payments from public transport to shopping malls.
Third party apps will not be able to keep your data
After the new rule, third parties, such as food delivery, cab service, online shopping companies will not be able to save the credit-debit card information of customers. Earlier, whenever you used to make online payment, your card details were saved on those sites, due to which many times customers also had to be victims of fraud.
Sometimes there was a risk of theft and fraud due to the card details being saved while making online payments. Now this rule of RBI will end your trouble. From the new year, you will have to enter complete card details including 16 digit debit/credit card number or just choose the option of tokenization.
Will charge more
Apart from this, from January 1, if you transact more than the prescribed limit on your ATM card, then you will have to pay a new charge. From the new year, if account holders transact after the prescribed limit of ATMs, then more fees can be charged from them. They may now have to pay Rs 21 on every transaction instead of Rs 20.
