Ram Mandir Consecration Ceremony: Before the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir on 22nd January, the services of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport located in Ayodhya will start. Air India has announced to start the inaugural flight on December 30 to connect Delhi and Ayodhya by air. With the take-off of this flight, passengers will be able to travel to Ayodhya by plane. Its services on daily basis will be started from January 16, 2024.
According to news agency PTI, Air India Express said that on December 30, the inaugural flight IX 2789 will depart from Delhi at 11 am and will land in Ayodhya at 12.20 pm. After that, on return flight number IX 1769 from Ayodhya will depart for Delhi at 12.50 pm and will reach here at 2.10 pm. During this journey, passengers will reach their destination in just 80 minutes.
The International Airport at Ayodhya has an extended runway suitable for operation of A-321/B-737 type aircraft. Air India Express is very excited to start operations from Ayodhya. Alok Singh, managing director of the airline, said, this reflects our commitment to increase connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across the country.

IndiGo had said on December 13 that it will operate the inaugural flight from National Capital Territory of Delhi to Ayodhya Airport on December 30. At the same time, commercial services will be started from January 6.

The first phase of construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya began during the Covid lockdown in 2020 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the temple.
