Delhi Poor Widow’s Daughter Scheme & Orphan Girls Marriage Scheme 2020:-
Delhi Poor Widow’s Daughter Scheme – Delhi government has revised the income norms for poor widow’s daughter and orphan girl marriage scheme 2020 (Delhi Poor Widow’s Daughter Scheme & Orphan Girls Marriage Scheme 2020). The revised eligibility criteria for financial assistance for marriage of poor widows and orphans in Delhi is now in force. The main objective of the scheme is to ensure that poor widows marry their daughters/ – To provide financial assistance of Rs. This marriage assistance will enable them to meet the expenses involved in their daughters’ marriages and to girls for their wedding expenses.
The state government will now provide financial assistance for the marriage of all orphan girls and daughters of poor widows who earn up to Rs 1 lakh per annum. With the income limit rising, more widows and orphan girls will be able to apply for financial assistance in delhi marriage assistance scheme. Application for this scheme should be submitted before or after 60 days of marriage in district offices of Social Welfare and Women and Child Development.
The scheme is being fully planned for SC/ST from fy 2006-07. ST / OBC / Was transferred to The Social Welfare Department for the welfare of minorities. It is currently being implemented by the Department of Women and Child Development GNCTD.
Earlier, those whose annual income was up to Rs 60,000 were eligible to apply under financial assistance for the marriage of daughters of poor widows and orphan girl scheme. Now the income criteria has been revised, with annual income up to Rs 1 lakh delhi can avail benefits under marriage assistance scheme. Since its launch in the financial year 2006-07, the number of applicants receiving financial assistance under the scheme has increased.

Eligibility Criteria for Delhi Marriage Assistance Scheme:-
The applicant should be a resident of NCT of Delhi at least 5 years before the date of application.
Daughter should not be less than 18 years of age.
The applicant’s annual income should not exceed Rs 1 lakh.
Documents required for Delhi Marriage Assistance Scheme:-
A copy of a ration card or voter ID card or any other document as proof of residence, which clearly shows at least 5 years of residence in Delhi.
A copy of the birth certificate of the girl child.
A self-declaration by the applicant regarding his income
Husband’s death certificate.
Marriage Invitation Card or Marriage Certificate
Area MLA/ MLA Mp or State/ State Recommended by Gazetted Officer of Central Government |
