Delhi-Meerut Express Way Toll News: Project Director Arvind Kumar said that toll has been started on Delhi-Meerut Expressway from today. No toll tax will be levied on NH 9 and service lanes except expressways. In this regard, guidelines have also been issued to the authorized company for collection of toll tax. NH 9 and service lanes constructed from Dasna to Nizamuddin will remain toll free.


new Delhi. Vehicles going from Meerut, Ghaziabad to Delhi on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will have to travel expensive from today. Toll has been started on this Expressway. For a year, the drivers were traveling for free. Drivers from Nizamuddin to Meerut will have to pay a toll of Rs 155. This expressway is the first expressway in the country, where toll will be collected with the help of automatic cameras.

About 30000 vehicles pass daily on Delhi Meerut Expressway. This expressway is of 16 lanes. In this, there are six lanes of Meerut Expressway in the middle. Nizamuddin can be reached in 45 minutes by Meerut Expressway. The expressway was started last year, but due to the construction of ROB in Chipiyana, the road here used to become narrow, due to which toll was not being charged till now. Now ROB has been formed on one side, after which the Ministry of Road Transport has given approval to collect toll. NHAI Project Director Arvind Kumar said that from today every vehicle passing on Delhi Meerut Expressway will be charged toll.

The project director said that apart from Delhi-Meerut Expressway, toll tax will not be levied on NH9 and service lanes. In this regard, guidelines have also been issued to the authorized company for collection of toll tax. NH 9 and service lanes constructed from Dasna to Nizamuddin will remain toll free.

There will be a load on 30000 thousand drivers every day

About 30000 vehicles move daily on the expressway from Sarai Kale Khan to Ghaziabad and Meerut. Till now these vehicles were running without paying toll, but now these drivers will have to pay toll for plying on the expressway.

Payment will have to be made at the booth on landing from Meerut to Dasna

Toll will not have to be paid for traveling from Delhi to Dasna. Vehicles going directly from Delhi to Meerut will have to pay toll for the entire route. At the same time, drivers landing at Dasna from Meerut will have to make manual payment at the toll booth, going beyond that, the toll will be deducted through Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR).
