Delhi Metro: Maintenance continues at 12 depots, trains running without passengers in the morning and evening

The Delhi Metro has a total network of 389 km, covering a total of 285 metro stations. The Delhi Metro has been closed for almost 4 months, but all its offices, sites and depots are continuously functioning.



The
Delhi Metro has been closed for the last nearly four months due to the New Delhi Corona infection. But amidst the transition, all the offices, sites and depots of the Delhi Metro are functioning regularly. The Delhi Metro has a total network of 389 km, covering a total of 285 metro stations. At the same time, more than 300 metro trains also operate. The operation of metro trains has been closed for the last four months for the passengers and currently trains are standing in all 12 depots of the metro. But maintenance of all things is going on in Delhi Metro.



 

Even the operation did not suffer, so the daily trains of the uninitiated passengers are circling once a day. DMRC Executive Director Anuj Dayal told IANS, “Metro trains are not available for passenger services during the Kovid epidemic, but all the offices, sites, depots etc. of Delhi Metro are functioning regularly.” He said, all the 12 depots of the metro are serving employees at full capacity and maintenance of trains is going on.

Trains are being run on every line in the morning and evening as per technical requirements, so that inspection of the entire section can be ensured. Till now the Delhi Metro has not been allowed to start by the government and due to this, the metro services are still closed. Significantly, in many states most things have been reopened. In such a situation, offices have also started and people are also returning out of their homes to do their jobs, keeping themselves safe. But millions of people have been affected due to non-running of Metro in Delhi. More than 28 lakh people used to travel daily in the metro before the lockdown.
