However, despite the increase in the cases of Covid-19, the Delhi government had decided to run DTC buses and metro trains with 100 percent seating capacity.
At the same time, this decision has also been confirmed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Therefore, now bus and metro trains will be operated with full capacity.
In the information given by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, it has been said that following the guidelines issued by DDMA and Delhi Government, metro trains are being run with 100 percent seating capacity. However, during this time passengers are not allowed to travel standing. At the same time, it has been made mandatory for all passengers to wear masks. No one is allowed to travel without a mask. Therefore, now more passengers will be able to travel in a metro train than before.
From this point of view, in normal days, a coach of a train of 8 coaches has the capacity to travel standing for 250 people with the facility of seating 50 people, but now traveling standing has been banned and one 50 people can travel in the coach only by sitting. In such a situation, a total of 400 people can travel in a metro train of 8 coaches at a time. However, this number is more than the limit of passengers fixed during the restrictions imposed earlier. In which the seating capacity was also reduced to 50 percent.
Along with this, to prevent the spread of corona epidemic, the Kovid Safety Protocol is being implemented in the entire Delhi Metro network, for which now 15 Flying Squads have been deployed for metro trains. have gone. These flight squads are keeping a watch on the passengers traveling in Delhi Metro to strictly follow the Corona Compliant Behavior (CAB). Along with making the passengers strictly follow the corona-compliant behavior, if any passenger violates the corona rules in metro trains or metro station premises, then they are being punished.
