Currently, passengers can buy both token and QR code based paper tickets at station counters. However, one problem with this is that in this you will not be able to get down at any station in the middle and go out.

But now soon this problem is going to get rid of. Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro can now also buy QR code based paper tickets on all lines. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) itself has given information about this.

QR ticket will be available in Delhi Metro

A senior Delhi Metro official has said that the existing token system will be phased out gradually through the QR ticket system. Currently, passengers can buy both token and QR code based paper tickets at station counters. However, one problem with this is that in this you will not be able to get down at any station in the middle and go out. If you have to go out from any station in between, then you have to take a free pass ticket. No money will be taken from you for this.

Two machines will be installed at every station

DMRC has installed 2 Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) machines for QR coded tickets at each metro station. One machine is installed at the entry and one at the exit. Tickets with QR can be entered from the same station from where it has been issued. One has to enter the station within 60 minutes of the ticket being issued. Otherwise this ticket will be invalid. This QR code will be installed at the AFC gate itself, which can be scanned from the phone and paper ticket can be taken.

Will not be able to show the photo of the ticket

However, the photo clicked from the mobile or the photo copy of this QR paper ticket will not be valid. The ticket of such passengers will not be valid. It is a transparent and cashless method. Delhi Metro is also planning to introduce mobile based QR ticketing by the end of May. This system is currently available on the Airport Express Line.
