Delhi weather update: Strong winds in Delhi and chances of rain in these states, know complete details

Apart from strong windy weather condition in Delhi, East to West Low Pressure Area is prevailing between Haryana and Bangladesh. Due to this, light rain may occur in many states.



New Delhi: Strong winds are expected in the national capital on Wednesday with the maximum temperature hovering around 40 degrees Celsius. India Meteorological Department gave this information.

Create a low pressure area

According to the Meteorological Office, an east to west low pressure area is present between Haryana and Bangladesh, due to which light rain may occur at some places over Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

Heat wave unlikely to last for a week

According to Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Skymet Weather, strong winds and lightning may occur in some parts of Delhi on Wednesday, due to which the temperature is expected to drop. He said that there is no possibility of heat wave in Delhi for a week.


Significantly, on Monday evening, winds gusting up to 100 kmph lashed the national capital, uprooting many trees and disrupting power supply.

An official of the Meteorological Department said that this was the most severe storm in Delhi after 9 June 2018. During that time the wind speed in Palam was measured at 104 kilometers per hour. An official of the Meteorological Department said that due to the scorching heat and humidity, there is a possibility of similar strong storms in May and June. Such situations cannot be predicted a day or two in advance.
