In this app, you can keep many types of documents including driving license, registration, PUC in e-format and when asked by the traffic police, you can show the documents kept in this app instead of hard copies. The documents kept in this app are completely valid because they are certified by the Government of India itself.
Actually, here we are talking about Digilocker mobile app which was launched by the Government of India to keep important documents online. In this app, you can keep not only driving license and registration certificate safe, but also documents like Aadhar card, PAN card and mark sheet.
Digital copies of these documents are saved in this app, which we can show whenever needed and they are also considered completely valid. That is, if this app is present in your phone, then you do not need to keep the original copy of other documents including driving license.
DigiLocker app is linked to your Aadhaar number. In this, the user is given 1GB of secure cloud storage to store his documents. To view the document, you have to login to the app using user name and password.
You can download this app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. In this, you are given the option to sign-in by entering your name, Aadhaar number or mobile number. By visiting the Transport Ministry link given in the app, you can download the soft copy of both the documents in e-format by entering your vehicle registration number and driving license number. Similarly, for other documents, you will have to download the soft copy by visiting the link of the concerned department given in the app.
