Digital Banking Units Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 75 DBUs yesterday. In this, people can avail facilities like online account opening, loan application, internet banking bill payment, passbook printing. This will change the life of common man.



Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in 75 districts on Sunday with the aim of taking banking services to every nook and corner of the country. With the help of DBU, the government is trying to make banking services accessible to the last person of the country at an affordable rate.

In this mission of Digital Banking Units, 11 government banks, 12 private banks and one small finance bank are participating and 75 digital banking units have been opened in different parts of the country. Let us tell you, in the budget of the current financial year, it was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to open 75 DBUs to commemorate the completion of 75 years of independence.

What is DBU? (What is DBU)
As per the information given by the Prime Minister’s Office, DBU is a digital banking outlet. In this, people can avail facilities like opening savings account, checking account balance, printing passbook, transferring money, investing in FDs, applying for loans, issuing credit and debit cards, enrollment, paying taxes and bills. . The statement further said that through this, the government aims to provide digital banking services to the customers at a low cost.

How will DBU work?
The country’s two largest private banks ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have also participated in the DBU mission. ICICI Bank has opened DBUs in Dehradun, Karur, Kohima and Puducherry, while HDFC Bank has opened DBUs in Haridwar, Chandigarh, Faridabad and South 24 Parganas.

The DBU of ICICI Bank will be divided into two parts. The first part will be a self-service zone, in which people will be able to avail the facilities of ATM, cash deposit, print passbook, check deposit and internet banking. On the other hand, the second part will be the Digital Assistance Zone, where a representative of the bank will be present, who will be able to solve the problems faced by the customers as well as apply for Savings Account, FD, Home Loan, Auto Loan, Personal Loan and Credit Card. Taxes will also help. The DBU of HDFC Bank will be very similar to that of ICICI Bank.
