Chennai, The DMK has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to waive the customs duty on the newsprint. Along with this, the party also demanded to take steps towards paying the dues of government advertisement of newspapers and increase the advertisement rate by 100 percent.
Government’s support necessary to save the industry
The party has said that the industry has been badly affected by the lockdown implemented to overcome Kovid-19. He says that if this industry is not supported then it will be difficult for the 3 million people associated with this industry to live. The industry has faced a lot of problems during the lockdown.
