Uttar Pradesh government is going to start a grand campaign of ration distribution from December 12, under which more than 15 crore ration card holders of the state will be given double free ration in the form of booster dose.
Authorized sources said on Thursday that this is the biggest ration distribution campaign in the country so far, which will directly benefit Antyodaya and eligible domestic ration card holders. Along with the officers, MPs and MLAs will also monitor this campaign, which is starting to give big support to the poor, laborers and farmers.
Preparations have been completed for the grand campaign of ration distribution, which is going to start from December 12. Under the scheme, double ration is to be distributed to Antyodaya ration card holders and eligible families. There are about 1,30,07,969 units under Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 13,41,77,983 units of eligible domestic cardholders in the state.
It is worth noting that the Prime Minister’s Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which started during the epidemic, was ending in November, in view of this, CM Yogi had announced free ration distribution till Holi on behalf of the state government in Ayodhya on 3 November. Since then 10 kg ration is being given free every month to the eligible card holders of UP. The Center has also extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till March 2022.
Apart from this, the UP government is giving free wheat and rice twice a month to the ration card holders. Pulses, edible oil and salt are also being given free of cost from ration shops. He has done a great job of taking the ration distribution campaign to every poor through 80 thousand kotedars.
