Giving information on Friday, Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh said that the Dearness Relief (DR) of 17,000 pensioners of urban bodies receiving pension according to the seventh pay scale has been increased by 4 percent by the Urban Development and Housing Department. Accordingly, now the dearness relief of pensioners has increased from 38% to 42%.

Will get increased salary from July, arrears will come in account in September
The minister has informed that the enhanced dearness relief will be paid to the pensioners from July 1, 2023. Along with this, the arrears of the increased dearness relief amount of two months will also be paid to the pensioners in September 2023, the pensioners who are getting pension according to the sixth pay scale, have also been increased by 9 percent from July 1, 2023.

Pensioners now get 221% DR in 6th pay scale and 42% DR in 7th pay scale

It may be noted that the state government on Thursday, taking a major decision in the interest of pensioners, approved dearness relief at the rate of 221% on basic pension/family pension in sixth pay scale and 42% in seventh pay scale from July 1, 2023, to pensioners/family pensioners. is of. The increased amount for the month of July, 2023 pension/family pension which will be payable from August, 2023. The rate of increase in dearness relief in the sixth pay scale has been increased by 9% and in the seventh pay scale, dearness relief has been increased by 4%. Earlier, they were getting dearness relief at the rate of 212% on basic pension/family pension in the sixth pay scale and 38% in the seventh pay scale from July 1, 2023.

DR also increased on additional pension payable to pensioners of the age of 80 years or more

Dearness relief will also be payable on the additional pension payable to pensioners of the age of 80 years or more as per the order of the government. Dearness relief will be payable on superannuation, retirement, disability and compensation pension. Employees dismissed or removed from service will also be eligible for dearness relief on the compassionate allowance accepted. Dearness relief will also be payable to pensioners receiving family pension and extraordinary pension as per the relevant orders of the Finance Department.

These rules will also have to be taken care of

If a person has been kept in service on compassionate grounds due to the death of his spouse, then in such cases dearness relief on family pension will not be eligible. If he is in service at the time of death of his spouse, he will be eligible for dearness relief on family pension payable on account of death of his spouse. For those pensioners who have commuted a part of their pension, dearness relief will be payable on their basic pension.
