There is a provision of fine of Rs 5,000 for driving without a license, which was only Rs 1,000 earlier. Now some states have made the process of getting their driving license even easier.
If you live in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi NCR or Jharkhand, then you can get a driving license by going through very easy procedures. These states have digitized the driving license manufacturing process. So let’s know the very easy procedure-
Online: People residing in the above states can apply for driving license online. For this, you just have to visit the official website of the Ministry of Transport. The form given on this website has to be filled online and the requested documents have to be uploaded along with the form. Along with this, you can also book your one slot for the test. Once the slot is booked, the applicant will get a date for the test, which can be selected as per the convenience.
Fee Deposit: According to the new process, the applicant has to deposit the fee for online driving license immediately after the slot is booked. After that applicants can choose the date for the lien exam as per their convenience. The gateway for depositing fees online is given on the website itself.
Online Test: The applicant is first given a learning license, before which the applicant has to go through an online test. For this, you have to appear online in your respective transport office. A total of 10 questions are asked in this online test and they have to be answered within just 10 minutes. Applicants who give correct answers to 6 or more questions out of 10 are considered to have passed the test. The certificate of passing this test is mailed to the applicant’s mail id. You can take a print out copy of this certificate from anywhere.
