Driving License/RC: If you have not updated your mobile number in vehicle registration certificate and driving license, then get the mobile number updated soon. Because from 1st April, if the mobile number of vehicles is not updated, then a heavy fine can be imposed. The Transport Department has issued instructions regarding this. The Secretary of the Transport Department has informed about this by sending a letter to the DTO and MVI. Along with this, instructions have also been given to spread awareness for updating mobile number.
The DTO said that if the vehicle owner does not update the mobile number in his vehicle registration and driving license, then he will have to pay a fine. Also, if the mobile number is not updated, then pollution and other vehicle related facilities will also not be available. MVI Rakesh Ranjan said that the date for updating the mobile number has been fixed till 31st March. Vehicle owners who do not update by 1st April will be fined by the Transport Department. The amount of the fine has not been decided but it is likely to be at least Rs 2,500.
