Driving licenses of 96890 drivers of Noida district will be cancelled. Along with this, the registration certificate of vehicles will also be cancelled. The traffic police has written a letter to the transport department in this regard. According to the traffic police, in the meeting of Uttar Pradesh State Road Safety Council held on December 2, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had given instructions to cancel the driving licenses of drivers who violate traffic rules three or more times.
DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav said that from January 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023, 219606 drivers violated traffic rules in the district. Of these, 96890 vehicles are registered in the district, whose drivers violated traffic rules three times or more. The remaining vehicles are registered in other districts. Whereas drivers of 12482 vehicles violated traffic rules 10 or more times.
There are 1042 vehicles whose drivers have violated traffic rules more than 30 times. For the first time, DCP Traffic said that such strictness has been imposed and a letter has been written to ARTO enforcement in this regard. According to the information received from the Transport Department, till now driving licenses were suspended only for violation of traffic rules in the district, but for the first time driving licenses will be cancelled.
Put up speed limit boards
Boards were installed on Friday to reduce the speed limit on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. In this, the speed of light vehicles has been fixed at 75 kilometers per hour and the speed of heavy vehicles has been fixed at 60 kilometers per hour. The speed limit has been reduced due to increased risk of road accidents in fog. In this, the speed limit has been reduced on the 24 km long Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and 165 km long Yamuna Expressway. This will remain in force till 15th February.
