Bhopal. Thousands of electricity workers of Madhya Pradesh are on strike on Tuesday in protest against the Electricity Amendment Bill being brought by the Central Government. Due to this, the electrical work may come to a complete halt.
All the employees and officers working in power distribution companies have decided to boycott work for 1 day. The purpose of this one-day strike, to be held under the banner of United Forum, is to reach the government with its 20-point demands. Madhya Pradesh can also drown in darkness due to strike of employees. Due to this common people may have to face problems.
The workers leaders who went on strike say that for the last 15 years, they have been continuously meeting the representatives of the government regarding their demands and memorandums. Despite this, the government has been giving only assurances on their demands. In February last, the team of employees met the government, in which the government had assured that their demands would be resolved by July 15, but no solution has been found so far.
20-point demand The striking employees say that we will protest against the 2021 Electricity Amendment Bill. Along with this, the employees are also angry about the pension fund policy. Apart from this, due to non-recruitment of new recruits for many years, additional workload is being put on the employees. The 20-point demand also includes the matter of regularizing the contractual employees. The employees of the electricity distribution company are on strike on Tuesday regarding these.
