Madhya Pradesh is going to become the first state in the country, where electricity consumers will be given paperless bills i.e. e-bills. This system of e-bill will be implemented as a pilot project in April. Initially, this system will start in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior.


Bhopal: If you live in Madhya Pradesh, then there is good news for you. Now your electricity bills will be found on your mobile. Electricity consumers in the state will soon start getting paperless bills. Madhya Pradesh Principal Secretary Energy Sanjay Dubey has said that power distribution companies will soon provide paperless bills to the consumers. Electricity consumers will get electricity bills through SMS, WhatsApp and E-mail. Electricity bills will also be in PDF format and complete information including electricity consumption of the consumer will be there.

Chief Secretary of Energy Department gave information
According to the information, Sanjay Dubey, Chief Secretary of Energy Department had reached the review meeting of power companies in Jabalpur. He said that the system of paperless billing will bring revolutionary changes in the power sector, which will benefit both the electricity consumers and the companies. After the introduction of this system, Madhya Pradesh will become the first state in the country where paperless bills ie e-bills will be given to electricity consumers.

Bill will be sent to the consumer’s mobile
The Energy Secretary said that by giving the bill digitally, the cost and time of the bill which has to be printed on paper will be saved. It still takes 8-10 days for the bill to reach the consumer. Double labor is also spent in first reading and then distributing the bill, so changes are being made in the system so that where the bill will be available to the consumer directly on his mobile so that the amount of the bill can also be deposited on time.

The system will be implemented in April as a pilot project
This system of e-bill will be implemented as a pilot project in April. Initially, this system will start in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior. After the implementation of this system, lakhs of rupees spent on stationery of bills every month will be saved. Along with this, consumers will also get a discount on making online payment.
