Under these efforts, door-to-door electricians and officers are engaged in revenue collection to collect the arrears. Efforts have been intensified to increase revenue collection at the field level by holding review meetings in all the circle offices of the company. Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has also given instructions that in the cases made by Vigilance, the recovery of dues should also be expedited. Apart from this, revenue should be recovered by adding the arrears drawn by the audit and the arrears due to other reasons in the consumer’s bill. It has also been instructed that the disconnected connections should be checked at night so that the defaulting consumer does not use electricity illegally and if any consumer is found doing so, then a case should be made against him under Section 138 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The company has directed the regional officers to make arrangements to open the hair counters on holidays and for extra time than the scheduled time for collection of revenue in city divisions and transmission-handling divisions. According to the decision of Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, Kesh counters located in all the divisional offices of the capital are being opened by Bhopal region for the service of consumers on Sundays and holidays. Along with the “Operation and Maintenance” staff, “Vigilance” has also been added to the electricity connection disconnection proceedings against the defaulters by the company . Electricity consumers are requested to show the receipt to the electricity distribution company’s employees when they ask for the receipt for payment of electricity bill, so that the electricity consumers do not get unnecessary inconvenience.
