7th Pay Commission DA Hike: There is good news for central employees. The wait for the dearness allowance increase for January 2022 is about to end. Approval can be given to increase DA in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday (30 March 2022). Once approved, it will be credited to the account along with the salary of March. Along with the increase in dearness allowance (Central government employee DA), arrears for January-February will also be given. There is a total increase of 3% in dearness allowance. At present, DA is getting 31 percent.
3% DA increase is confirmed
According to experts, dearness allowance can be increased by 3 percent in January 2022. After this the total DA will increase from 31% to 34%. Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) is increased on the basis of AICPI data. In December 2021, this figure stood at 125.4. With this, an increase of 3 percent has been fixed. During the budget session of Parliament, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary had also clarified in reply that there is no intention to increase DA by more than 3%. Dearness allowance will be increased only by 3 percent.
Annual DA will increase by Rs 73,440
After increasing the dearness allowance by 3%, the total DA will reach 34 per cent. Central employees get a minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000 at Level-3. If we calculate on this basic salary, then the annual DA will be Rs 73,440 if there is 34 percent dearness allowance. However, if we talk about the difference from the current dearness allowance, then the salary will increase by Rs 6,480 annually. At the same time, 540 rupees will increase every month.
Calculation on minimum basic salary of Rs 18000
1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 18,000
2. New dearness allowance (34%) Rs 6120/month
3. Dearness allowance so far (31%) Rs 5580/month
4. How much dearness allowance increased 6120- 5580 = Rs 540/month
5 Increase in annual salary 540X12 = Rs 6,480
