7th pay commission: Amidst the festive season, the central government can give great news to crores of people of the country. Under the 7th Pay Commission, the government may soon make a big announcement related to Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and central government employees.
How much can DA increase?
Although no official statement has been issued yet, there is speculation that it may be announced in October. It has been said in some media reports that the Central Government may increase DA by 4 percent.

With this, D may increase from the current 42 percent to 46 percent. However, the final decision will be taken by the government and will be subject to Cabinet approval.
What are DA and DR?
It is known that to reduce the impact of rising inflation in the country, dearness allowance is given to the employees by the government. Due to increase in dearness allowance, the salary of lakhs of employees of the country increases. This is a part of their basic salary. If inflation increases in the country, the government also increases DA. Dearness Relief (DR) is a benefit given to pensioners by the Central Government.

Due to rising inflation, the government regularly changes the rates of DA and DR every six months.
How much will the salary increase?
Suppose at present the basic salary of a person is Rs 18,000 per month, then according to 42 percent DA, he is getting Rs 7560 as DA every month. If DA increases to 46 percent then its amount will become Rs 8280. That means there will be an increase of Rs 720 in salary.
